Itineraries

Early morning, our guide will pick you up from your hotel in Siem Reap (please provide your hotel name and address) at 7:00 AM. You'll travel by motor-coach to Kampong Cham and board the RV Mekong Princess for lunch. After a safety briefing in the Ramvong Lounge, relax and enjoy the afternoon cruise. In the evening, savor a Cambodian Welcome Dinner as the ship sails to Angkor Ban, where it docks overnight.

Onboard Activity: Lecture on Cambodia’s Geography and Life along the Mekong River.

We begin the day exploring the charming town of Angkor Ban, where you’ll witness local life, receive a special blessing from monks at a pagoda, visit a local family’s home, and engage with students at a village school. The ship then sails to Phnom Penh.

In the afternoon, enjoy a city tour by cyclo, starting along the riverfront to the Royal Palace, where you’ll stroll through its gardens and visit the Throne Hall, Moonlight Pavilion, and Silver Pagoda, home to Cambodia’s Emerald Buddha. After a short break, continue to the National Museum to explore Cambodia’s rich pre-Angkorian and Angkorian history.

The ship remains docked in Phnom Penh overnight.

This morning, take a scenic 45-minute drive to Choeung Ek, the infamous Killing Fields, where you can walk through the site, visit the museum and Memorial Stupa, and learn about Cambodia’s tragic past. On the way back to Phnom Penh, stop at Tuol Sleng (S-21), a former school turned prison during the Khmer Rouge regime.

The afternoon is free for your own exploration of Phnom Penh.

In the evening, enjoy an onboard cultural performance featuring Apsara and traditional folk dances.

Early Sunday morning, the Mekong Princess sails to the Cambodia-Vietnam border for formalities.

This morning, after clearing immigration, we visit Hong Ngu, a village near the Vietnam-Cambodia border known for weaving traditional Khmer scarves. You'll see the weaving process in local homes and admire intricate embroidery artwork. We also visit a temple dedicated to Hoa Hao, a unique religion founded in this region.

In the afternoon, board sampans to Gieng Island. After exploring a sampan-making village, enjoy a canal ride through mango gardens. Experience a ride on a xe lôi (motor trishaw) to visit Phanxico Monastery.

The ship sails to Hoa An and anchors overnight.

This morning, take a boat excursion to Hoa An, a picturesque village known for its lush fields and seasonal crops. Ride a xe loi (motor cart) along winding country roads, walk through peaceful rice fields and orchards, then continue by sampan along the Mekong. Passing a bustling rice milling hub, observe how rice is transported and processed. The final stop is at a conical hat-making family, where you can chat with locals and try your hand at crafting one.

In the afternoon, the ship sails through an untouched part of the Mekong Delta to Can Tho, the capital of the region. Enjoy a short city tour, visit Zihuang Pagoda (Chua Ong), and watch a welcome unicorn dance performance. Afterward, explore the city at your leisure before dinner onboard.

The ship docks in Can Tho overnight.

Start your morning with a sampan cruise through the vibrant Cai Rang floating market near Can Tho. Navigate through boats selling fresh produce and daily essentials while capturing stunning photos. Enjoy fresh fruit and coconut water, known as Vietnam’s “anti-aging drink.” Before returning for a buffet breakfast, visit a local noodle factory to see the fascinating noodle-making process.

After port formalities, Mekong Princess sails along the Bassac River, passing scenic waterways like Tra On Rivulet, Nicolai Canal, and Mang Thit Canal. The ship docks overnight in Ben Tre province.

Onboard Activity: Fruit carving & tropical fruit demonstration by our Executive Chef.

This morning, take a sampan ride through a mangrove-lined channel, then hop on a xe lam (three-wheeler) to visit a local coconut candy maker and observe the traditional process. Stroll through a village orchard to see native Vietnamese fruits at different growth stages and enjoy a fresh fruit tasting. Then, board a small boat for a scenic ride through narrow Nipah palm-lined creeks before returning to the ship.

The Mekong Princess continues its journey along the Mighty Mekong River, passing Cho Gao Canal, Vam Co River, Nuoc Man Canal, Soai Rap River, and Saigon River.

The ship docks overnight at Saigon Port.

Onboard Activity: Cooking class demonstration by our Executive Chef.

Enjoy a sumptuous breakfast buffet in the Indochine Restaurant. After breakfast and port formalities, disembark Mekong Princess at 8:00 AM at Saigon Port and transfer by motor coach to your Ho Chi Minh City hotel.
