Early this morning, a continental breakfast will be served, followed by a bus ride to the pier in Can Tho to board the sampan for a cruise through the Cai Rang floating market. The sampan will navigate through the many boats selling produce and goods essential to the daily life of the Mekong Delta residents. Along the way, there will be opportunities for photos while enjoying fresh fruit and Vietnamese "anti-aging drink," fresh coconut water. We will also visit a local dry noodle-making house to witness the noodle production process.
On the return trip, we’ll stop at Ninh Kieu Wharf to explore the Zihuang Pagoda (Chua Ong) and enjoy a traditional unicorn dance performed by local teenagers. Then, we’ll take a short ride to the famous “Binh Thuy Ancient House” (also known as the "Lover House" from the novel by Marguerite Duras) before returning to the Mekong Princess for breakfast.
After lunch, we continue the excursion by sampan to Hoa An village, known for flower cultivation and handmade crafts. First, we’ll visit flower gardens and learn about flower care and growth. Then, we’ll walk to a local home to chat with the host about daily life and work.
After a break, we’ll continue on motor trishaw to another village, stopping by a conical hat-making family to learn how they create their products. Enjoy a peaceful walk through the village, passing rice fields and fruit trees, while visiting a few more local families.
