Many would be surprised to hear that Luang Prabang has beaches – but indeed it does! Along the Mekong river lies a few peaceful beach islets that welcome visitors during the drier months. Opt for this off-the beaten-track experience as you relax on soft sands, soak up some sun, and enjoy refreshing dips in the beautiful Mekong river.

This free-and-easy independent tour departs from the capital of Luang Prabang where a boat captain and a traditional Lao slow boat will be waiting to take you on a fun beach day along the Mekong river. Depending on the season and which beaches are available, cruising time usually varies between 15-45minutes. We’ll take care of the cushions, mats, tents and water so you can just rock up with your beach essentials and spend the day relaxing on the Mekong’s sands. Do note that exploring the Mekong’s beaches is a seasonal activity dependent on the river’s water levels, with the best months being between winter and early spring time (between Dec – Apr).

Remark:

Cruise itinerary and schedule are subject to change due to weather, tide levels and operating conditions. Unused services are not subject to a refund.
Meals on board are fusion: Lao menu. Guests should advise of any special food preferences, allergies or dietary requirements at least three days prior to the cruise date.
Advance registration is required with full name, date of birth, nationality, gender, passport number and visa expiry date for all passengers. A valid passport is required upon check-in. Otherwise, boarding may be denied by port authority.
