Siem Reap Trekking Tour 3 Days: Phnom Kulen & Beng Melea

After pick up you at your hotel, we depart with beautiful sightseeing of rural Cambodia countryside. Get chance to taste a few bites of bamboo sticky rice – Cambodian traditional famous snack and observe incense making en route. Continue to visit less touristy Beng Mealea jungle temple. This temple located 60 km east of the main group of temples at Angkor Wat and built during the reign of King Suryavarman II in the early 12th century. Until now it’s never been restored. Its primary material is sandstone and it is surrounded by moats. The basic layout is three enclosing galleries around a central sanctuary. Resume drive to visit the remnants of the Khmer Empire’s capital, the Pre-Angkorian temple, constructed in the late 9th century. Explore the amazing pyramid architecture unparalleled is the seven tiered and 36-metre high, a double sanctuary (Prasat Thom/Prang). Great views await you after an adventurous climb to the top. Overnight in the camp near the temple area

After breakfast, we drive to Svay Leu where we begin our trekking point to explore and unlock history of the lost city. The Phnom Kulen mountain range provides Siem Reap with water and dominates the skyline of the flat plains surrounding it. Although the highest peak of the mountain range lies at only 487m, Phnom Kulen has much to offer visitors. It’s really an amazingly trek through the jungle trail to discover the friendly nature, the surroundings, hear birds singing and feel the tranquility. The trekking takes approximately 3.5 hours within the deep forest.

Wake up early in the forest by bird’s song before immerse into the picturesque scenery. Challenge on a motorbike (12 km) along the pilgrim path to reveal the hidden Sra Dmarei. You’ll pass through muddy tracks, you’ll have to hold your balance on rugged terrain or duck to avoid the branches. Continue by our car or by foot to visit Preah Ang Thom, it’s a very special and holy place and there are many people religiously respect and pray for happiness, visit the River of One Thousand Lingas and the magnificent waterfall close to it. Take a refreshing swim in the stream and pool of the waterfall until late afternoon. Return to Siem Reap in the late afternoon.
