Overview

Discover the highlights of southern Vietnam in this 10-day tour. Start in Ho Chi Minh City, where you'll explore the French colonial structures, pagodas, and the bustling market. Then, crawl through the Cu Chi Tunnels, an impressive underground network used during the Vietnam War.

Next, take a cruise along the Mekong Delta to explore the spiritual and daily life of people living along the river. Visit Ben Tre and Can Tho, where you'll discover the floating markets and lush scenery. On the way back to Saigon, visit Sa Dec, the hometown of the famous writer Marguerite Duras.

In Da Lat, enjoy the fresh air, green trees, and fragrant pine forests of the highlands. Visit the scenic spots, including the Valley of Love and the Crazy House, designed by a Vietnamese architect. Relax on the beach in Mui Ne, where you can swim, sunbathe, or try water sports.

Itinerary

Arrival in Saigon
On arrival at Tan San Nhat Airport, picked up and transferred to hotel. Ho Chi Minh City, a bustling metropolis, contradiction of its northern counterpart, is crowded with bikes and motorbikes, excited by numerous shopping areas and sidewalk cafés. Overnight at the hotel in Ho Chi Minh City

Saigon - Cu Chi Tunnels - Saigon Half Day City Tour (B)
Morning after having breakfast, depart for the famous Cu Chi Tunnels 
 
Located 70 km northwest of Saigon, Cu Chi Tunnels were an incredible underground network constructed by Vietnamese soldiers in the American war. Nowadays, the tunnels have become a popular tourist attraction of Vietnam.
 
Afternoon, we take a half day of city tour to visit all famous sites of this bustling city. The first destination is the Reunification Palace
 
Reunification Palace is a unique construction designed for the President of South Vietnam during Vietnam War. When entering, visitors can not only admire its architectural beauty but also enjoy fresh atmosphere created by trees and grasses around.
 
Followed by some French colonial structures including the Old Saigon Post Office & Notre Dame Cathedral
 
Notre Dame Cathedral is one of the most famous architectural monuments influenced by European architecture. Both its exterior and interior are impressive with bright red color of bricks, stained glass panels and carved tiles, attracting many tourists.
 
After visiting the Jade Emperor Pagoda, we continue our trip to the bustling Ben Thanh Market, which is firstly well-known as the place for real Vietnamese food. There are a number of vendors and food stalls in the market food section that offers guests many freshly delicious dishes. You also can find any goods for daily use as well as variety of eye-catching local handicrafts, souvenirs here.

Saigon – Ben Tre – Can Tho (B, L)
Drive to Mekong Delta, we take a riverboat for a cruise along the riverbank of the Mekong Delta.
 
The Mekong Delta is the region in southern Vietnam where the Mekong River approaches and empties into the sea. It is a very rich and lush area, covered with rice fields, that produces about half of the total of Vietnam’s agricultural output.
 
Landing on the Tortoise Island to visit fruit garden, enjoy some of tropical fruits. Take a horse cart to visit from garden to garden in a small village. Rowing boat cruise along wonderful canals to visit orchards and the houses of local people. Visit a coconut candy workshop in Ben Tre.  Then takes a boat cruise to small waterway and come to have lunch at a local restaurant. Boat cruise again to a small riverside village and join in a home stay in the garden to learn Vietnamese culture of the Mekong Delta. Take some catch fishing tools, the farmers will show you how to catch fishes and shrimps in the canals and learn to cook local cakes and foods. In the afternoon head to Can Tho for overnight.
 
Can Tho, situated in the heart of the Mekong delta, is well-known for Ninh Kieu wharf and Bang Lang garden. With plenty of restaurants, floating markets and friendly people, this riverside province never fails to capture the traveler’s heart.

Can Tho – Cai Rang - Sa Dec – Saigon (B)
Rising early to the sounds of the Delta coming to life for another day, we breakfast and start our trip with a boat cruise on sparking streams along the endless waterway of Mighty Mekong River to Cai Rang floating markets.
 
One of the most enjoyable things to do in Mekong Delta is visiting Cai Rang Floating Market where you can see fruits, specialties of Mekong Delta. Beside, you can also buy garden tools or enjoy a Vietnamese breakfast dishes like rice noodle “Pho”.
 
After lunch at a local restaurant, we transfer to Sa Dec - the little “Venice” in the Mekong Delta with numerous narrow canals, and different kinds of trading activities. We explore this charming town by a walking along its narrow streets and take photos of beautiful old houses and Chinese temples. Stop at an ancient house dating from 1890, home of Ong Huynh Thuy Le, former “lover” of famous French novelist Marguerite Duras. Transfer back to Saigon for around 3 hours driving. Saigon – Dalat (B, L)
After having breakfast at the hotel, our destination today is Da Lat, 320km from Saigon. Breathtaking scenery along the way with coffee and tea plantations, jungle blanketed valleys and pine forested hills. Stop for photo and visit some coffee plantation. After a short photo stop here, we descend to Da Lat.
 
Well known as the jewel of the central highland region, Da Lat is considered as a museum of the waterfall, the valley of flowers and the lake, which makes it become the most favorable holiday destination nowadays.
 
Overnight in Da Lat

Dalat (B, L)
Breakfast served at hotel, our trip starts by a visit to Tuyen Lam Lake – the most scenic lake in the area. From here, it takes five minutes to drive to Truc Lam pagoda, built in 1993 and is the best maintained and prettiest Buddhist shrine in Da Lat. Next the must-see site we cannot miss is the Datanla Waterfall, just a few meters after the turn off to Tuyen Lam Lake. After lunch at a local restaurant, we continue to visit the Summer Palace of Vietnam last Emperor. We also visit the rather bizarre and very aptly named Crazy House, a brightly painted concrete house which winds itself around trees, mimicking their shapes; it is used as a guesthouse now. The rest of today is your free time. Overnight at the hotel in Da Lat

Dalat – Mui Ne (B)
Pick up at the hotel and transfer to Mui Ne town.
 
Located 200 km from Saigon, Mui Ne is a coastal resort town in the Binh Thuan Province. Thanks to the enormous sand dunes, many beautiful resorts, restaurants and bars,  it becomes a famous destination for beach holiday on tourist map of Vietnam.
 
The scenic 200km journey passes through the bustling cities and dense rubber plantations. The terrain changes to arid semi-desert with cactus plants and strange looking dragon fruit plants when we get closer to PhanThiet and Mui Ne. After checking in at the resort you can relax by the pool or wander onto the beach. Overnight in Mui Ne

Mui Ne Beach Free & Easy (B)
After breakfast, relax at your hotel or spend the morning at the beach enjoying various water sports. To explore the area, take a jeep tour to enormous sand dunes or ride a bike through the charming rural landscape to visit local villages and fishing ports. If you’re into golf you can tee off at the Nick Faldo-designed Ocean Dunes Golf Course. Overnight in Mui Ne

Mui Ne – Saigon (B)
Enjoy your leisure time until our private driver arrives to transfer you back to Ho Chi Minh City (around 5 hours). Upon arrival transfer you to hotel for check-in. The remaining time would be spend at your own pleasure. Overnight in Saigon

Saigon – Departure (B)
Depending on your flight schedule, we pick up and transfer you to the airport for your flight to your next destination. End of Asia King Travel
