Itinerary

You will be picked up from your accommodation in Hanoi early in the morning (about 7.30 AM). This morning, you will go to Sapa via Noi Bai - Lao Cai Highway - Vietnam's longest highway. The gorgeous drive from the Red River Delta to Lao Cai Province will be a great way to begin your journey. Arrive at Sapa at lunchtime. Have lunch at one of the town's restaurants.
After that, we will transfer to a trekking point in Sa Xeng Village, have a short stop on the way to take photo of Muong Hoa Valley. Arrive at Hau Thao, get off your vehicle and start the afternoon trek to Sa Xeng. The trek is on a small back road winding along the uneven Valley. Most of the way is gently downhill, passing several villages and views of rice terraced fields. Get picked up at the end of the trek and make your way back to Sapa Town. Check in a hotel for the night. Dinner is on your own account.
-
Approx: 7 kilometers/ 2 hour trekking.

After breakfast at the hotel, you and your tour guide will go on a moderate climb to Muong Hoa Valley. The first stop is at a waterfall in Cat Cat Village of the Black H'mong people to take photos and listen to traditional music and dance (if you arrive at the correct time). The initial portion of the trip in Cat Cat Town is packed as we descend concrete stairs to the waterfall, but we then continue on a tiny dirt route along the valley into Lao Chai Village.
The view from this less-traveled trail in the valley is breathtaking. This is a less-traveled path in the valley and the scenery is stunning. A basic lunch is at a local food store on the trek. Following lunch, we will go to the villages of Lao Chai and Ta Van, where we will spend the night at a house. For elders, the terrain might present a small challenge due to its occasional steepness. If your level of fitness is reasonable, though, you should be good. Although the nightly home-stay accommodations are simple, they do include clean beds and mosquito netting. Dinner at a local home and an overnight stay.
-
Approx: 12 kilometers/ 7 hour trekking

This morning is easy and free for you to relax and do some shopping at Sapa Town (If you would like to keep busy with more trekking our tour guide and driver is always ready at your service). An optional activity you may be interested in is taking a cable-car ride to Fansipan Peak, the Top of Indochina. At 1:00 PM, we leave Sapa for Hanoi on the same national highway. Arrive in Hanoi around 6:00 PM.
