By Car or Bus: From Kuala Lumpur to the main entrance of Taman Negara, Kuala Tahan, it takes about 3-4 hours. It is usually taken via the East Coast Expressway (E8), which takes one to Jerantut, a town close to the park.
A three-hour ride from Kuala Lumpur to Jerantut via bus is available. Transfers can be done in Jerantut through a local bus or taxis up to Kuala Tahan, which is the gateway village to Taman Negara.
By Train: Alternatively, there is the more scenic journey that is available by train from Kuala Lumpur to Jerantut, which takes about 3-4 hours and from which one can continue to Kuala Tahan by bus, taxi, or even by boat.
By Boat: The most popular and scenic way to go to Taman Negara is from Kuala Tembeling to Kuala Tahan. The boat ride from Kuala Tembeling to Kuala Tahan takes about 2-3 hours and gives a glimpse of the Tembeling River and the surrounding rainforest.
