Fraser's Hill gets its name from Louis James Fraser, a Scottish trader and adventurer who disappeared in this area during the early 20th century. Fraser was a tin miner in the region, and he operated a gambling den in the hills as a way to divert the miners. In 1910, Fraser went mysteriously missing, sending out a search party in his name.
Although he was never found, the search party discovered the potential of that area as a hill station. So, the British colonial government developed Fraser's Hill as a hill resort in the 1920s, eager to find a cool retreat from the tropical heat.

By Car: Fraser's Hill is best reached by car. It takes about two hours in journey time from Kuala Lumpur, depending on the traffic.
By Bus: There are also buses plying from Kuala Lumpur to Kuala Kubu Bharu for those not wanting to drive.
By Train: You can also board the KTM Komuter train from Kuala Lumpur to Kuala Kubu Bharu. The train will take you through a scenic countryside view, and at Kuala Kubu Bharu, you can hire a taxi or private car to take you up to Fraser's Hill.
Allan's Water is a quiet peaceful lakefront, which falls near the center of the town at Fraser's Hill. A catchment area earlier, the place has now been transformed into a recreational area offering paddle boats on hire for a quiet ride across the water amidst the greenery surrounding the area. About 4 kilometers from the town, Jeriau Waterfall is one of those beautiful natural attractions well worth a visit.
