Lang Co Bay

Halfway between Hue and Da Nang, skipping a stop at Lang Co Bay would be a real miss. The bay features a long stretch of land reaching out to embrace the sea, forming a uniquely shaped coastal inlet. Thanks to this distinctive beauty, Lang Co has been listed among the “World’s Most Beautiful Bays” by the World Bays organization.

Stretching 42 kilometers, Lang Co Bay shows Central Vietnam’s finest landscapes: crystal-clear blue waters, white sands, and majestic mountains rising along the shoreline. Asia King Travel is excited to introduce the beauty of this natural wonder in the article below.
Lang Co Bay is in Phu Loc District, Thua Thien Hue Province. It lies 60 kilometers south of Hue City and 30 kilometers north of Da Nang City. National Highway 1A, which connects the two cities, runs through the bay, making it nearly impossible to miss. At the end of the bay begins the Hai Van Pass, famously known as the most scenic mountain pass in Vietnam.
Both Hue and Da Nang have international airports with connections to many countries around the world, so you can choose to start your journey in either city. From there, simply follow National Highway 1A as mentioned above to reach Lang Co Bay. Asia King Travel recommends starting from Da Nang so you can travel over the Hai Van Pass and enjoy the breathtaking coastal scenery along the way.

The best time to visit Lang Co is during the summer months, from April to August, when travelers can easily enjoy a perfect vacation. After that, Central Vietnam enters the rainy and stormy season, with the potential for dangerous typhoons. So it's best to avoid traveling during this period.
Hue also experiences some influence from the Northern climate, bringing a bit of chill in the winter, but prices during this low season are typically more affordable compared to the peak months.

Lap An Lagoon is the inner body of water surrounded by the bay and serves as a major highlight for visitors. Much like the dreamy atmosphere of the ancient capital of Hue, Lap An Lagoon also carries a serene, romantic charm of its own.
At any time of day, you can discover a unique kind of beauty here. The morning sunlight piercing through layers of mist, the deep blue sky reflecting on the crystal-clear water at noon, or the soft, golden rays peeking through as the sun begins to set.

The most magical moment is when the tide goes out, revealing a “path” that stretches right into the middle of the lagoon. This stunning water-dividing trail is so photogenic, it might just drain your camera’s battery and storage with all the mesmerizing shots you’ll want to capture.
Lang Co Bay is also a seafood harvesting area, so you’re in for a treat with a wide variety of dishes that couldn’t be any fresher. The first must-try dish is grilled oysters, especially the ones topped with scallion oil or baked with cheese.
Grilled oysters have a savory, rich flavor with the irresistible aroma of roasted peanuts and scallions. And when they’re baked with cheese, it’s an absolute delight when you pull up a hot, gooey string of melted cheese that looks just as amazing as it tastes.

Crab is a favorite for many thanks to its high nutritional value. Steaming is a simple cooking method that preserves the crab’s natural sweetness and nutrients. Just dip it in a basic sauce, and that alone is enough to have you hooked.
Lang Co has a wide range of accommodations, including guesthouses, hotels, and resorts, catering to all types of travelers. Budget-friendly hotels can be found along National Highway 1A, with prices starting from around VND 300,000 per night.
For more upscale options, there’s Lang Co Beach Resort, a 4-star resort featuring a large swimming pool and essential amenities for guests. Room rates at Lang Co Beach Resort start from around 700,000 VND per night.
