From Hoi An, a quiet town in the Center, you take the road towards the Highlands to make authentic, off-the-beaten-track discoveries. You explore the landscapes surrounded by fascinating mountains. Trek through the lush forests of Yok Don National Park, discover the serene beauty of Buon Ma Thuot's coffee plantations, and immerse in the rich indigenous culture of ethnic minority villages. Experience adventure and authenticity in Tay Nguyen.
You will have a chance to meet minority ethnic groups and discover their daily life. In particular, you will have the opportunity to participate in a Gong show, classified as an intangible heritage by UNESCO in 2005.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Travel through ethnic villages along the Ho Chi Minh Road to reach Kom Tum, with lunch en route.
- Visit Sedan villages like Kon Du and Kon Bil to see traditional cob and bamboo houses and scenic landscapes.
- Visit Ban Don village to see Ede longhouses
- Enjoy a boat ride on Lake Lak, visit Mlieng village, with an optional gong show and traditional dance in the evening.
- Travel to Dalat, known for its temperate climate, flowers, and charming scenery reminiscent of Switzerland.
Itinerary
Welcome to your hotel in Hoi An.
Continue our excursion towards the Central Highlands passing through ethnic villages along the Ho Chi Minh Road. After lunch en route, continue towards Kom tum.
Visit the city, the archbishopric, the cathedral, the orphanage, and the villages of the Bahnar ethnic group.
Dinner and overnight at Kom Tum.
Departure to visit the villages of the Sedan ethnic group: Kon Du, and Kon Bil in the Konray district (40 km from Kontum) with beautiful, very authentic landscapes, houses made of cob or bamboo, and superb communal houses.
Return to Kontum for lunch.
Afternoon, depart to Pleiku to visit the Pleikep village of Jarai. Walk in the country of the animists to discover their culture, their cemetery decorated with funerary statuettes, and the water point next to the rice terraces.
Stop at the tea plantation and T'nung Lake.
Night at the hotel in Pleiku.
Departure for Buon Ma Thuat passing through beautiful landscapes of arid hills of red earth, coffee trees, and small villages of ethnic minorities Ede, Giarai.
Arrival at Buon Me Thuat around noon. This capital of coffee production has the appearance of an old, rich, and clean city. Not very touristy, the city is nevertheless very pleasant.
After lunch, depart to visit Ban Don, stop in the village of Ede en route to see longhouses on stilts. Crossing the suspension bridge. Discovery of the daily life of the M'nong, Lao. Return to Buon Ma Thuat, and visit the local market.
Night at Buon Ma Thuat.
After breakfast, visit the DakLak Ethnographic Museum. Road to the Dray Nur waterfall then departure for Lake Lak.
Arrival in the magnificent Lak Lake basin in the afternoon. Boat ride on the lake towards the Mlieng village..
Night at the lakeside, in a traditional long house on stilts in a M'nong village.
Option proposed: an evening of gong show and traditional dance with M'nong in his house on stilts.
Departure at 8 a.m. from Lake Lak we arrive at Dat, around noon. Located in the Central Highlands at an altitude of 1,500 meters, Dalat, a privileged place for flowers and particularly roses, benefits from a temperate climate, with no less than four seasons per day! This city, located on the Lang Biang plateau, is considered the “Switzerland” of Vietnam.
After lunch, we visit the Dalat Botanical Garden, the Bao Bai Summer Palace, and the unusual “crazy house”.
Dinner at the local restaurant. Night at the hotel in Dalat.
Breakfast at the hotel, then transfer to Lien Khuong airport for the flight to Saigon.
