Ben Tre 2-Day Excursion

Pick-up from your hotel as we head towards Ben Tre. 

Upon arrival at Ham Luong dock, board a boat and cruise along the Ham Luong River, a tributary of the mighty Mekong River. As the cool breeze washes over you and lush islands line the banks, you’ll feel the excitement for the day’s discoveries.

Our first stop will be a visit to various local workshops. Here, witness firsthand the age-old techniques used by skilled artisans to create everyday items. From activated charcoal to dried coconut and handy coconut husk brooms, you will be amazed by the ingenuity of these family businesses. Even see how coir, or coconut fiber, is transformed into beautiful art.

Next, hop on a “Xe Lôi”, a charming local motorized rickshaw, for a unique experience as we cruise through the village roads. You can also kayak through the natural canals, immersing yourself in the peaceful beauty of the Mekong Delta and experiencing the rhythm of rural life.

Have lunch at a local host house.

Take some time to relax and soak in the stunning countryside views before your afternoon activities. Perhaps you would like to explore further on a bicycle ride through the village, cast a line and try your hand at fishing, or learn the secrets of local cuisine in a hands-on cooking class with friendly residents.

Next, visit Huong Nghiem Pagoda, where you will not only learn about its history and significance but also gain firsthand experience in making natural soy sauce guided by an in-house nun. Following this unique cultural immersion, venture to a small family business producing raw materials for coconut fiber. 

Return to the homestay and participate in a cooking class, transforming your fresh market finds into a delightful lunch. Savor the meal and enjoy the warm hospitality of the homestay.

After lunch, pay a visit to a local fruit plantation and indulge in a variety of seasonal delights straight from the source. Afterward, hop on a traditional rowboat and gently cruise through the natural canals, soaking up the beauty and serenity of the surrounding countryside. 

Finally, embark on a sampan for a scenic return to the dock before heading back to Saigon, marking the end of your unforgettable 2-day, 1-night Ben Tre adventure.
