Between 1:00 and 2:00 PM, our minivan will pick you up in Vientiane and take you to your boutique river vessel, where your inviting cabin awaits.

In the afternoon, embark on a guided tour of Vientiane’s highlights, including the golden Pha That Luang, the serene Ho Phra Keo temple, and the grand Patuxai monument.

As the sun sets, return to the ship to relax on deck or in the lounge. In the evening, enjoy a welcome reception followed by a delicious dinner featuring Asian and European cuisine.

In the morning, arrive in Salakham, a bustling market town known for its wood and spice trade. Stroll through the lively market, taking in the rich sights, sounds, and aromas of local commerce.

A little farther along, pass a golden Buddha statue on a hill, marking the beginning of Thailand along the river.

Today, we arrive at the charming village of Ban Don Saingam, nestled among lush hills along the Mekong. Take a 30-minute walk or a seasonal tractor ride to explore a hidden cave, uncovering its secrets by torchlight before returning to the ship.

In the afternoon, continue cruising upstream, taking in the breathtaking scenery before reaching our overnight stop.

Your day begins with a delightful breakfast on board as you soak in the serene river views and watch local fishermen skillfully casting their nets.

By mid-morning, arrive at the impressive Xayaburi Dam, Laos' largest hydroelectric power plant. The 45-minute crossing provides a fascinating up-close look at this engineering marvel in action.

In the afternoon, visit a small hill tribe village, where our close relationship with the community offers a unique and authentic insight into their way of life.

In the morning, take a guided tuk-tuk excursion to the breathtaking Kuang Si Waterfalls, where turquoise cascades create natural pools perfect for a refreshing swim. Nearby, visit the "Free the Bears" rescue center to learn about efforts to protect endangered sun and moon bears across Southeast Asia.

In the afternoon, arrive in Luang Prabang, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and former royal capital of Laos. Stroll through its historic streets and visit Wat Xieng Thong, a masterpiece of Laotian architecture.

As evening falls, enjoy panoramic views from Mount Phou Si, then explore the lively Hmong Night Market or take a peaceful riverside stroll. Luang Prabang offers a variety of dining options, from charming cafés to fine restaurants.

Begin your morning with the Tak Bat ceremony, a sacred alms-giving tradition where saffron-robed monks silently walk through the streets of Luang Prabang. Afterward, explore the bustling morning market, filled with the fragrant aromas of exotic spices, locally grown teas, and freshly brewed Laotian coffee.

After breakfast on board, continue your city tour with a visit to the National Museum of Luang Prabang, housed in the elegant former royal palace, offering a glimpse into the city’s rich history. Later, explore a local handicraft village, where Laotian artistry comes to life.

Back on board, unwind on the sundeck while enjoying a traditional Lao dance performance, followed by a heartfelt Baci well-wishing ceremony.

Enjoy breakfast as your cruise journeys upstream to the legendary Pak Ou Caves, home to thousands of Buddha statues placed by pilgrims over centuries. From this sacred site, choose between an adventurous jungle trek through lush greenery to Ban Muang Keo or a leisurely boat ride to the village.

There, discover the ancient art of Lao-Lao whiskey distillation, guided by Miss Somechan Khonpachith, a master of this traditional craft. She will share its secrets and invite you to a tasting.

In the afternoon, your ship continues cruising upstream toward Oudomxay Province, passing the Pak Ou Dam construction site. Spend the rest of the day at your leisure—relax on deck or join an engaging infotainment session with the Cruise Director.

Spend the day unwinding on deck, taking in the ever-changing landscapes of northern Laos, where lush green hills and tranquil riverbanks offer a peaceful escape from daily life. As your ship cruises toward the Nam Tha estuary, one of the Mekong’s most significant tributaries, enjoy the serene beauty of this remote region.

In the evening, indulge in our renowned Mekong River Cruises barbecue dinner, set in a picturesque riverside location, making for a memorable dining experience under the stars.

After breakfast, visit a local hill tribe village in the Pak Tha area, where you’ll gain insight into their unique way of life. Returning to the ship, embark on the final leg of your river cruise, soaking in the breathtaking scenery as you sail toward the Thailand–Laos border.

Arriving in Huay Xay, a vibrant trade hub in Bokeo province—whose name means sapphire, reflecting its rich heritage—you’ll explore the lively market and visit a peaceful temple overlooking the Mekong. If time allows, we’ll cross into Thailand via the Thai/Lao Friendship Bridge.

In the evening, gather for a special farewell dinner on the Mekong, celebrating the unforgettable journey shared with fellow travelers.

After breakfast, bid farewell to the Laotian crew as you complete the checkout process and disembark in Chiang Khong, Thailand.

From there, journey to the legendary Golden Triangle, a region once infamous for the opium trade, now rich in history and intrigue. During your guided tour, visit the majestic Golden Buddha of Sop Ruak and explore the Hall of Opium, a museum with royal ties that delves into the complex history of the opium trade and its impact on society.

Afterward, you’ll be transferred to Chiang Rai, where your unforgettable journey concludes with a drop-off at either the airport or your hotel.

  • Every  river  cruise  on  the  upper  Mekong  is  a  pioneering  experience  and  is  subject  to  constantly changing river conditions, including flood waters and shallows. Therefore, please understand that we must reserve the right to alter the itinerary of this tour due to the logistical complexities involved. Small deviations in the tour program are sometimes necessary, depending on weather, local authorities and river and/or road conditions.  For  safety  reasons  and  according  to  navigation  conditions,  these  programs  may  be  amended without previous notice.​
  • Meals on board are fusion: Vietnamese, Cambodian & international. Guests should advise of any special food preferences, allergies or dietary requirements at least three days prior to the cruise date.
