Saigon Central Post Office, also known as the City Central Post Office, was built by the French from 1886 to 1891. To this day, the architecture of Saigon Central Post Office still retains its original unique features. This more than a century-old building was honored to be voted second in the list of 11 most beautiful post offices in the world by the American Architectural Digest magazine.

The first project called the Saigon Wire Department, was started by the French on November 11, 1860 to establish a communication system. The Saigon Post Office features a classic European architectural style combined with local elements. The facade is decorated with graceful curves, meticulous motifs, and Romanesque accents.

The building is arranged symmetrically with two two-floor buildings on two sides and a three-floor building in the middle, covered with a tiled sloping roof. On the facade of the building are exquisitely designed arched windows. The overall building has a yellow tone, repainted in 2015, which is the original color of the building and the color of Vietnam's postal industry.

Inside, the high ceilings and arches are decorated with elaborate patterns, The special dome design creates a sense of nostalgia and spaciousness for visitors. On both sides of the main wall are two large maps: one depicts Saigon and its neighborhoods in 1892, while the other illustrates the network of telegraph lines across Vietnam and Cambodia in 1936. In the center of the post office is the portrait of Uncle Ho - the great leader of Vietnam.
