Itinerary
Depart from Hanoi at 8:00 a.m. you will travel to Bac Ha District, Lao Cai Province on the Noi Bai – Lao Cai National Highway. The scenic drive from the Red River Delta, through the midland to Lao Cai Province will be a good start for your Sapa Bac Ha tour 4 days. After refreshment, set off with your private tour guide to embark on a 1,5 hour trek to a Flower H'mong village nearby (Ban Pho Village). Dinner tonight at the home-stay.
After your breakfast at the homestay, check out and bid farewell to the host then make your way to the market. Here you will see some ethnic minority groups such as Flower Hmong, Phu La, Yao, Tay, Nung…etc. They are from different valleys, and gather around for the trading. It is an awesome experience to see colors, understand traditions and feel the atmosphere.
Bac Ha Market offers a variety of local products including colorful embroidery, handicrafts and all types of daily necessary stuffs. Here also available animal market where people sell and buy or barter animals such as dogs, pot-bellied pigs, cows, buffaloes and so on. Lunch is served at a local restaurant.
The afternoon is spent for the travel to Sapa. The drive takes about 3 hours. Check in and rest for the remainder of the day. Evening is on your own discovery.
After your breakfast at the hotel, at 8:30, you get picked and transferred by the car to a trekking point to Y Ling Ho Village, Muong Hoa Valley. Muong Hoa is the biggest valley in Sapa region and bottomed by a rocky river. This is one of the most scenic trekking path in Sapa. Begin with a slope to the valley, the scenery of the rice terraces along your way is very beautiful and could be the highlight of the day.
Cross the river on a small suspension bridge and continue on the trek uphill. This is rather challenging when it is wet but definitely offers you a spectacular view over the valley. Finish your trek at Lao Chai Village where your private vehicle awaits you. Lunch is at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, get transfer to Ho Thau where your afternoon trek starts. The second trek of the day lasts about 2 hours and on a back road. The scenery of the terraces is not as amazing as the ones in the morning but the very is peaceful and less traveled. Get picked up at the end and transferred back to Sapa for you to spend another night.
- Approx: 11 kilometers (both paths)
This morning is easy and free for you to relax and do some shopping at Sapa Town (If you would like to keep busy with more trekking our tour guide and driver is always ready at your service).
