Itinerary
Upon arrival at Bangkok Airport, you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel for check-in. Enjoy some free time to relax and unwind after your journey, marking the start of the Thailand Cambodia Vietnam Tour 13 days. Overnight stay in Bangkok.
After breakfast we tours visit to Royal Grand Palace, dedicated to the Thai Royal Family’s ceremony. In the same compound is the magnificent Wat Phra Kaew, which is famous for the Emerald Buddha Image. After visit these complex we followed by visit to Wat Pho a house gigantic Reclining Buddha. We will board on a long tail boat trip along the Chao Phraya River and the many lively inner canals which offer some fantastic views of the local life close up. Along the way we make stopover at Wat Arun, the temple of Dawn, before lunch at a floating restaurant. In the afternoon, we will drive visit the Wat Traimit is well known as the Golden Buddha. Return to hotel and free for relaxing. Overnight in Bangkok
On the morning, departure by private car through the lush Thai countryside with its endless miles of rice paddies and fruit orchards. Arrival at Aranyaprathet you clear thai Immigration and Customs, say goodbye to your Thai guide, then make a short walk to the Cambodia side of the border at Poipet. Here you’ll meet your Cambodian guide who will assist you with immigration and customs formalities. Walking through the border crossing between Thailand and Cambodia is quite an experience. Cambodian guide waiting for you. And continue by road to Battambang along a bumpy tree-lined highway that cuts through rice paddy and maize fields. Battambang is Cambodia’s second largest city and, not so long ago, was within target range of a stronghold of the erstwhile Khmer Rouge and was therefore off-limits to most travelers. Arrival in Battambang, check in hotel and time free easy. Overnight in Battambang.
After breakfast, visit the traditional house at Phum Wat Kor then drive along the Sanker River through the charming country side until Wat Ek Phnom Temple (11th century). On the way back, visit Wat Slaket Pagoda, and Prahok Market (Prahok is the Cambodian fermented fish paste). In the afternoon, experience a 2-hour sightseeing tour aboard a bamboo train, the old means of transportation. Enjoy the beautiful village landscapes, rice fields and then return to Battambang to visit the Provincial Museum and stroll through the town center with your guide and admire its colonial architecture and Chinese shop-houses and colorful temples. Overnight in Battambang.
After breakfast, drive 120 km towards the northwestern province of Banteay Meancheyto visit the ancient temple of BanteayChhmar, meaning “Narrow Fortress”, dating from the late 12th to the early 13th century. It is thought to have been built by Jayarvarman II and was later rebuilt by Jayarvarman VII as a funerary temple for his sons and four generals who had been killed in a battle repelling a Cham invasion in 1177. In the afternoon, take a tour around the village to discover the daily life of Khmer people, and pass through some beautiful rice paddies before continuing the road to Siem Reap. Stop on the way to visit Banteay Top, another wonderful and remote ancient temple and close to Siem Reap, you will reach the village of Puok, home to the Artisans d’Angkor Silk Farm established to revive the Cambodia's beautiful silk production. Discover every step of the production. Arrive in Siem Reap in the late afternoon. Overnight in Siem Reap.
On the morning visit the Roluos Group. The monuments of Roluos, which served as the capital of Indravarman I (reigned 877-89), are among the earliest large, permanent temples built by the Khmers and mark the beginning of Khmer classical art. PreahKo erected by Indravarman I in the late 9th century dedicated by the King to his ancestors in 880. Bakong, the largest and most interesting of the Roluos group temples, with his active Buddhist monastery just to the north of the east entrance. Lolei, built on an islet in the center of a large reservoir (now rice fields) by Yasovarman I, the founder to the first city at Angkor. Lunch in local restaurant, afternoon transfer to BanteaySrei temple (10th c), regarded as the jewel in the crown of Classical Khmer Art. Continue to Ta Prohm, one of the area’s most beautiful temples. Ta Prohm has been relatively untouched since it was discovered and retains much of its mystery. Overnight in Siem Reap.
In the morning, visit the most famous of all the temples on the plain of Angkor: Angkor Wat. The temple complex covers 81 hectares and is comparable in size to the Imperial Palace in Beijing. Angkor Wat’s five towers symbolize Meru’s five peaks - the enclosed wall represents the mountains at the edge of the world and the surrounding moat, the ocean beyond.
Lunch in the local restaurant. Visit the South Gate, the ancient capital of Angkor Thom (12th century), Bayon Temple (unique for its 54 towers decorated with over 200 smiling faces of Avolokitesvara), the Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas, the Elephants Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King. Sunset at Angkor Wat. Overnight in Siem Reap.
Morning after breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Phnom Penh, pickup for lunchand then visit the Victory Monument, and the National Museum, also called Musee des Beaux-Arts. A French archaeologist and painter, Georges Groslier, designed it in Khmer style in 1917. The museum contains a collection of Khmer art - notably sculptures – from throughout the ages. Visit the Royal Palace, built by King Norodom in 1866 on the site of the old town, and the Silver Pagoda. Located within the grounds of the Royal Palace, the Silver Pagoda is so named because of its floor, which is made up of 5000 silver tiles. The treasures found inside include a solid gold Buddha encrusted and weighing 90kilograms and a small 17th century emerald and baccarat crystal Buddha. End your afternoon with the visit of the Wat Phnom Temple, Phnom Penh's namesake, from where you can enjoy views over the tree-lined avenues of the city during sunset. Overnight in Phnom Penh.
Morning time to explore one of the city's most vibrant markets, PsarToul Tom Pong, all called the "Russian Market", which sells a wide array of local goods and handicrafts. Then visit the Tuol Sleng Museum with its disturbing account of Pol Pot's reign of terror and the notorious 'Killing Fields' of Choeung Ek. At the noontime, transfer to boat pier for boat trip on Mekong river downstream to Chau Doc. a vibrant town on the edge of the Mekong Delta near the Cambodian border. Arrival in Chau Doc at the end of day. Check in hotel. Time free. Overnight in Chau Doc.
This morning you visit the local market overlooking the confluence of three rivers, and later take a boat to Chau Giang District where a tiny mosque serves the local Cham community. The Cham minority once dominated coastal Vietnam from the 2nd to the 9th centuries. The Chams also practice silk weaving and you may have the opportunity to see them at work. You’ll visit a beautiful Khmer temple, and later visit the floating houses that double as catfish farms, now a huge industry for the country. Return to land for the drive to Can Tho. En route, visit the bamboo basket-making hamlet of Long Thanh before continuing on to Can Tho. Transfer to your hotel on arrival. Overnight in Can Tho.
Morning after breakfast transfer to little town of Cai Be. Where our boat trip start pass through floating market, viewing the people of Mekong Delta are doing business on the water, gliding through the lush green vegetation of the canals, reach to an orchard for a delicious local lunch with completely tropical fruits. After lunch we keep on cruising along river to see peaceful tranquil life of villagers, admire marvelous natural setting of Mekong Delta region. The boat will arrive at Vinh Long town, walking around to explore local market of Vinh Long. Afternoon transfer to Saigon, on the way stop at Bonsai Garden to a little rest. Overnight in Saigon.
Morning we departure for the famous Cu Chi Tunnels, an incredible underground network constructed by Vietnamese soldiers in the American war. Nowadays, the tunnels have become a popular tourist attraction of Vietnam.
Return to HCM for lunch. Afternoon we will visit some major sights of the city. We pass the now-demolished wartime American Embassy before we visit the Reunification Palace which was the former residence of the President of South Vietnam until end of April 1975, and some French colonial structures including the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Old Saigon Post Office. After seeing the Jade Emperor Pagoda and the War Remnant Museum, we continue our trip on to the bustling Ben Thanh Market where anything and everything is for sale! Overnight at the hotel in Saigon
