Paradise Cave is located in the Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park area of Quang Binh Province, this is one of the largest and most biodiverse national parks in Vietnam. It takes around 500 km from Hanoi city center to Dong Hoi city center and 550km if you go straight to the cave.
You can rent a motorbike or a car to go to the cave from the center of Dong Hoi City, it takes about 68 km to get there. First, your starting point is Tran Hung Dao Street and you go along this direction for about 15 minutes to approach Ho Chi Minh Trail. You follow the east side of the road until you see Khe Cat junction. Then, you take the left turn to the west roadside and run about 5 km more, you will see a sign for this attraction.
When tourists come to Paradise Cave, you need to buy tickets to enter this place. It takes 250,000 VND per person for an adult and 125,000 VND per child for children from 1m1 to 1m3 tall. If your child is under 1m1, the tickets are free.

This attraction is the result of a natural weathering process for millions of years. Rainwater soaked deep into the underground dissolved the limestone, and formed the caves. Over time, stalactites and stalagmites were made up and created a magnificent cave system for the time being.
Although Paradise Cave has existed for millions of years, it was discovered by a local settler in 2005 on a jungle trip. After that, The British Royal Cave Association conducted a survey and announced that this cave is the longest dry cave in Asia with a total length of 31.4 km.
With its breathtaking stalactite and stalagmite systems, this place is called the “underground palace”. Since 2010, this cave has opened for visitors and has quickly become a famous attraction in Quang Binh.

Paradise Cave has a magnificent structure that is made up of a combination of the light from the sky well and a thousand-year-old stalactite, stalagmite system. Inside the cave, there is a wooden bridge throughout the cave which helps visitors move easier and it also protects the natural background of this place.
The stalactite and stalagmite system here has various colors and shapes. Especially, the cave has many giant limestone pillars and domes that are up to 100m high and 150m wide creating an exotic space.

Although travelers can visit this destination anytime in the year, the best time to visit this beautiful place is in the dry season (from April to August). During this period, the weather is sunny, there is no rain, the roads are convenient and the air is fresh. Before entering the cave, visitors have to climb over all 500 artificial stone steps. These steps run around the mountainside, leading travelers to go into the cave. The steps were built after the cave was discovered, so everybody could access the cave easily. Fried pancakes are one of the national specialties of Vietnam. However, this dish in each region has its traits and recipes. In Quang Binh, fried pancakes with a unique preparation way will give tourists an impression when they try this dish.
To make a Quang Binh fried pancake, the chef chooses red rice flour (another name is brown rice) as the main ingredient so the crust has a pink color which is different from other cakes that have a yellow color. The crust covers the filling with fresh shrimp, squid, bean sprouts, and spring onion. When the plat is served, you can eat it with dipping sauce to feel a special taste.

Sweet potato is a rustic food for Vietnamese people, it is prepared for many delicious dishes such as baked or fried sweet potatoes, soup, jam,... However, in Quang Binh, there is a specialty - dried sweet potato.
This snack is made of red sweet potatoes. After the potatoes are harvested, they will be dried outdoors for about 2 hours and incubated for around 10 days. When the potatoes are no longer plump, people collect and boil them, slice them into slim slices, and dry them again under sunlight. Since the slices turn into a light brown color, they are ready to be enjoyed.
