Legends behind the name “Dai Yem Waterfall”

The waterfall's name, "Dai Yem" (the Sash) is based on a tragic love story. Legend has it that a couple deeply in love was separated when the young man had to go to Laos to fight in a war. They promised to reunite at this very waterfall upon his return. While he was away, the girl waited faithfully by the waterfall every day.

Sadly, he never came back. One day, a violent storm swept through, and the girl was carried away by the raging waters. The villagers searched for her but found only her sash near the waterfall. Since then, the waterfall has been named "Dai Yem” in memory of the love that ended with the waterfall.

Where is Dai Yem Waterfall

Dai Yem Waterfall is located in Moc Chau District, Son La Province, Vietnam. Moc Chau District is known for beautiful scenery, with Daii Yem Waterfall being a popular attraction. How to get to Dai Yem Waterfall

From Hanoi, you can take either Expressway 03 or National Highway 6 to reach Moc Chau District. The travel time is around 4-5 hours. From Moc Chau Farm Town, head towards Pa Hang intersection and follow the stream for about 5 kilometers to reach Dai Yem Waterfall.
