Introduction

A1 Hill is one of the famous historical relics in Dien Bien, built in 1952 with the purpose of storing important documents, equipment, and military supplies. In 1954, it was one of the crucial battlegrounds in the Battle of Dien Bien Phu, and later became the site of victory for the Vietnamese military.

This was the site of a 54-day battle between the French and Vietnamese Armed Forces, which ended with the Vietnamese emerging victorious. It marked a significant turning point in the war. Therefore, it is highly recommended to visit the site in person, where several bunkers, including the massive crater resulting from the explosion of over 900 kilograms of explosives by the Vietnamese, have been preserved.
