Kitamani Plateau still retains its almost unspoiled beauty, becoming a natural symbol that any visitor would want to visit upon arriving in this vibrant Bali island.
There is Mount Batur, a still active volcano and Batur Lake in the plateau. Batur Lake, 16 km wide, is located in the south of the plateau and is home to many special fish. There are also hot springs that are widely available for treating some of its diseases. Visitors often take hot springs here before embarking on a journey to reach the height of the cooled volcanoes. Lake Batur is the main source of irrigation water for almost every village in Bali, so the lake is especially important in the lives of the people on the island in general.
After lunch in the plateau, we continue to visit Tirta Empul Temple.
Tirta Empul Temple, also known as the “Holy Stream Temple,” plays a very important role in the spiritual life of the local people, which is considered to be the place to dissolve the negative effects in life and to purify mind, human soul. In the central area of Tirta Empul there is a sacred water pond that is never dry because of the constant supply of water from the bottom of the basin, which flows from the high mountain stream. Whether it is local people or Hindu people from all over the world, when coming to Tirta Empul Temple, there is the desire to bathe theirselvé through twelve sacred streams, wishing to wash away the dust, wash the air. Good luck in body and soul, want to be blessed, stroked and protected, giving them a healthy body, a pure soul and a wise mind.
The last destination today is Monkey Forest. It is the forest of the village of Padangtegal - which nourishes the spiritual world for the villagers. Pura Dalem, Pura Beji and Pura Prajapari are three ancient temples built around the 14th century in the village forest. Temples as well as the forest became sacred when there was the appearance of the long-tailed macaque. The monkeys here have a small physique, gentle face, friendly and eyes full of emotions.
