Begin the journey from Pakse along Route 13 to visit the iconic Pha Pheng Waterfalls, known as the "Niagara of the East," a must-see natural wonder in the region. Continue to the fishing village of Xieng Di to enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, board small boats to explore Khone Island, where you can see the remnants of the old French railway and walk across the bridge connecting Khone and Det Islands. The boat then takes you to Ban Veuthong village on Khong Island, where the Vat Phou boat awaits to welcome you for a sunset cruise and dinner on the Mekong River.

Enjoy breakfast on board while cruising towards Ban Deua Tia, a small village where centuries-old traditions are still alive. After exploring the village, the Vat Phou boat continues its journey north on the Mekong River, passing Don Xai Island and numerous small islets in the river’s archipelago. After lunch, visit the village of Huei Thamo and the mysterious Oum Muong forest temple, surrounded by serene natural beauty. Return to the boat for dinner, and spend the evening relaxing in the peaceful atmosphere.

Start the day with breakfast on board as the Vat Phou boat continues its journey along the Mekong River to Champassak. The highlight of the day is a visit to the Vat Phou ruins, a magnificent pre-Angkorian temple complex from the 10th century and the boat's namesake. Explore the ruins, visit the museum, and climb to the highest temple for breathtaking views and photo opportunities. Afterward, return to the boat for a final lunch on board. A small boat will transfer you back to Pakse to conclude the tour.
