Itinerary
Join us for the Huai Nam Dang Trek Tour 3 Days, where we’ll kick off our adventure at the starting point of hill tribe trekking in Chiang Mai. Our first stop is the local market in Mae Malai, where your guide will gather ingredients for dinner and explain their uses.
Next, we’ll visit the stunning Mork Fah waterfall in Doi Suthep Doi Pui National Park for a refreshing swim. After a tasty lunch at a roadside restaurant, we’ll head to Pong Deuad Hot Springs to begin our trek.
We'll hike leisurely for about four hours through lush forests, with opportunities to rest and take photos. The trail leads to a plateau filled with giant Pinus Kesiya trees, offering breathtaking views, including Doi Luang Chiang Dao on clear days.
In the late afternoon, we'll arrive at a Karen village where you can relax or help prepare dinner while learning about local cooking with herbs and ingredients. After dinner, you’ll meet villagers and pick up some words in the Karen language, like "tablu," which means both "hello" and "thank you."
You'll spend the night in a cozy homestay, sleeping on a mattress with a mosquito net, giving you a camping-like experience.
On the second day of your Huai Nam Dang Trek Tour 3 Days, wake up to breakfast prepared by your guide. After eating, we will begin a two to three-hour trek into the forest, visiting village rice and vegetable fields along the way and learning about traditional cultivation methods.
Farming in a national park means no "slash and burn" practices are allowed. Take in the beautiful surroundings, with plenty of time to rest and take pictures.
After lunch, we will continue trekking for about two hours to the Karen village of Baan Mae Ma Nai, where we will spend the night. Here, you can try fishing in the Mae Taeng River using local tools and learn how to build a bamboo raft.
The evening is free for you to explore or relax. You can also join your guide in the kitchen and practice the art of cooking on a wood fire. Stroll around the village and chat with the locals using "tablu," the greeting you have already learned. Enjoy another overnight stay in the Karen village.
On the Huai Nam Dang Trek Tour 3 Days, we’ll start with breakfast in the community before embarking on a one-hour trek to the Mae Taeng River. There, our bamboo rafts will be ready, and life jackets will be provided (required for all participants, with a minimum age of six).
Enjoy a scenic bamboo raft journey along the river, stopping at a Black Lahu village where your guide will share insights about the local culture. We’ll then continue to a Shan village for lunch.
Finally, we’ll drive back to Chiang Mai by truck, arriving at your hotel around 4 PM, concluding your adventure. We also offer a two-day program at Huai Nam Dang National Park.
