Itinerary

Cycling to Mingun – City tour Mandalay (L, D)
After breakfast our tour guide will pick up and transfer you to a jetty for a private boat across the Ayeywarwaddy River. From here, we start our cycling trip to visit Mingun. Our first stop to visit Mingun Pahtodawgyi, the owner of Mingun Pahtodawgyi is King Bodawpaya, building the temple with the desire to create one of the largest pyramid-style temples in the world. Unfortunately, his dream is forever broken because of the sudden departure, and then the temple was not completed. However, thich brick-built architecture is full of admiration. After a major earthquake in 1883, this stupa was cracked in two main doors on both sides. The four-sided optical aspect of the tower will see the sides of the walls never exposed to loght, so each side will have a different color due to the adornment of the timeline.
Continue our visit to Mingun bell, the third largest bell in the world today. The 90-ton Mingun bell was donated by King Bodawpaya in 1808 to the Myatheindan Pagoda - a monumental construction by the king, but the king stopped the work halfway due to a prophesy. Then visiting the Myatheintan Pagoda, the best representation of the Universe, will refresh your tiredness and fatigue. Return to Mandalay for lunch. Afterwards, we cycle around the Mandalay center to discover this old capital of Burma.
Mandalay is the last capital of Myanmar and that make her to be the best place to see all the traditional arts and crafts. Start visiting gold leaf making work-place and see how the gold leaf is being made by hand in a traditional way. Continue visit the Old Palace grounds; Kuthodaw Pagoda, a complex of over 700 temples, white marble towers. Inside each tower there is a stone plate recording the Buddhist scriptures. The temple was built in 1857 under imperial rule to Mindon Min (1808-1878) as part of the Madalay Palace. The work of recording the Buddhist scriptures on the stone is not simple and it takes many days for a carpenter to seal the two sides of a plate. After engraving on the stone surface, the letters are spilled with gold. However, over a long time and many restorations, many yellow words are no longer available, only black soot or stone carvings.
Finally we stop to visit Golden Palace Monastery, noted for its exquisite wood carvings and enjoy the panoramic view of the city from Mandalay Hill. Overnight in Mandalay

We cycle around Ava to Nanmyint leaning tower which gives you an overview of the mighty Ayeyarwaddy River; Bagaya wooden monastery; Aungmyaybonza Monastery made of brick and stucco. Return drive to Mandalay for a visit to 200 years old U Being Wooden Bridge and fantastic sunset over the bridge. About 1.2km long, lying across the lake Tayngthaman. According to locals, the bridge was built from the wood harvested from the palace in Amarapura, when King Mindon decided to move the capital to Mandalay in 1857.
