Chiang Mai - Doi Khuntan National Park Trekking Tour 4 days: Exciting Adventure

Welcome you on arrival at Chiang Mai. Today is scheduled for you to relax to be ready for starting the trekking tour on the next day.

At 8:00AM, the tour guide picks you up to buy something you may need within some next days in Sam Pakoy local market.
We transfer to Chiang Mai train station, take a local train to Doi Khuntan station, arriving at Doi Khuntan National Park at 11:00AM. We have a lunch at a local restaurant, then checking-in the bungalow in the park.
In the afternoon, we take a short walk to the nearby waterfall to relax. You will have an opportunity to enjoy the sunset in such a beautiful national park.

Today morning, after having breakfast with coffee, tea and fruits, we leave to climb up the Khuntan Hill. We walk through the pretty forest with huge pine trees in the beautiful scenery. We come to visit the favorite weekend place of Chiang Mai evangelists, then continue to the Khuntan hill – 1337m above sea level. From there, we can have a panoramic sight to the forest and low lands.
We back to the bungalow, checking-out then transfer to Lampang. En route, we pay a visit to Wat Phra That Lampang Luang, one of the most highly revered temples in Thailand. According to legend the Buddha once visited the site some 2,500 years ago and donated a hair, which is now enshrined in the temple’s large chedi.

Have a lunch at a local restaurant nearby the temple, then we reach Lampang – the center of Lanna culture. In the 19th century, Lampang was the exploiting teak center with at least 4000 elephants working.

Cheking-in the guesthouse in Lampang, then we have a trekking tour in Talat Gao road with many historic sites.

After breakfast, we ride a horse through streets in Lampang. We visit Wat Si Rong Muang, which is the most beautiful teak wood monastery in Lampang. Built in 1904 by the Burmese from Mandalay, the monastery is famous for its building’s architecture and the variously decorated interior with Burmese art.

The next destination is Wat Prakaeo Don Tao. Built in the 14th or 15th century, this is an important temple since it houses the Emerald Buddha statue, the Thailand’s most sacred Buddha statue during the 15th century for a period of 34 years.

We continue to visit Ban Sao Nak, the wooden teak house with art mixture of Burmese and Lanna styles as its roof is in the Lanna style, whereas the verandahs around the house are the Burmese reflection. 

We have lunch then heading back to Chiang Mai. En route, we pay a visit at Wat Pra That Haripunchai. The temple has been considered as a significant pilgrimage place for Buddhists. It is also famous for the very attractive architecture in pyramid-shape. From its commencement till now, the temple is over 900 years old.
We reach Chiang Mai at about 5-6:00PM, where our trekking tour ends.
