Itineraries

Step aboard your floating home and settle in for an unforgettable journey.

After breakfast, explore Phnom Penh, once known as the "Paris of the East." Despite modern growth, its charm and rich history remain. Our full-day tour begins with a cyclo ride through the city, leading to landmarks like the Royal Palace, Silver Pagoda, and the haunting S21 prison from the Khmer Rouge era. Enjoy lunch in town before visiting the Sosoro Museum and strolling through the French Quarter, ending at the historic Wat Phnom.

In the evening, join an expert talk in the lounge, followed by an open-air barbecue and gala dinner, complete with a mesmerizing Apsara dance performance. Cap off the night by soaking in Phnom Penh’s vibrant nightlife.

Dining: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

As dawn breaks, our cruise sails into the Tonle River, a natural wonder of Cambodia with breathtaking scenery on both sides.

Morning excursion: Travel by ox-cart through the Kampong Tralach countryside, passing lush rice paddies and small villages. Visit a local NGO school and library project or explore a 300-year-old temple and Buddha shrine. (Cycling option available for ‘The Jahan’ guests, exploring the historic Lungvek palace and Buddha Jade Temple.)

Back onboard, enjoy lunch as we continue sailing upstream. Later, our crew presents a showcase of traditional Khmer fashion.

Afternoon excursion: Upon arrival at Kampong Laeang, cross to the famed pottery town of Kampong Chhnang. Hop on a tuk-tuk ride through local villages, witnessing pottery making and visiting a pre-Angkorian temple with stunning views of the floodplains and rice fields. (Optional cooking demo for ‘Jayavarman’ guests or a cycling tour through rural landscapes for ‘The Jahan’ guests.)

As evening falls, we sail back toward Kampong Tralach, where we anchor for the night.

Dining: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Begin your day with a walking tour through Kampong Luang, the renowned "Silver Smith Village," where skilled artisans transform raw copper, silver, and bronze into exquisite handcrafted souvenirs. Continue to the serene Wat Prang, the Royal Buddhist Temple that enshrines the remains of Cambodia’s revered "King Father." Here, you can reflect on his legacy while engaging with monks and locals about their daily rituals and stories.

Default Afternoon Excursion (any ship):

At the confluence of the Tonle and Mekong Rivers lies Prek Bangkong, a quaint village famed for its silk weaving—a craft once practiced by the Royal family. Witness the meticulous process of silk production and later visit the heritage house of H.E. Sam-El, a distinguished architect of the royal era.

Optional Afternoon Excursion:

Cycling (Ship 'The Jahan' only, extra cost):
Cycle to the former royal palace of “Lavea Em” (1601-1618), enjoying a leisurely ride through scenic landscapes with stops at historic pagodas, vibrant silk workshops, and bustling local markets. Conclude with a delightful tea break at H.E. Sam-El’s residence.

Distance: 14 km / Duration: approx. 120 min / Terrain: flat on concrete path

Afterward, spend the remainder of the day sailing up the Mekong to our overnight destination. Unwind with a poolside sundowner cocktail hour set to dance tunes, followed by dinner and an evening cinema.

Dining: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Explore a charming monastery and the village behind it, where you'll meet monks during their morning class and engage with friendly locals. Strolling through the village, you'll experience authentic Cambodian life, capturing heartfelt moments and stunning photographs.

Optional Morning Excursion:

  • Culinary (Ship 'Jayavarman' only): Visit the home of former ship chef Mr. B. and cook a century-old soup recipe, “Samlor Korko,” with his family. This traditional fish soup, made with roasted rice, vegetables, and spices, is paired with a duck egg omelet.
  • Cycling (Ship 'The Jahan' only, extra cost): Begin the day with a tranquil monk meeting before cycling through lush vegetable fields and traditional Khmer homes. Stop to observe skilled blacksmiths at work, then relax with a cold local beer or freshly pressed sugar cane juice.

Distance: 10 km / Duration: approx. 120 min / Terrain: flat on concrete path

We sail to Kampong Cham during lunchtime.

Default Afternoon Excursion (any ship):

Arriving in Kampong Cham, a trade and transport hub, we explore the outskirts where artisans create handmade goods. In Cheung Krok, witness locals crafting food, fashion, and daily essentials. Nearby, the seasonal Bamboo Bridge serves as a nostalgic link to the past.

Optional Afternoon Excursion:

  • Cycling (Ship 'The Jahan' only, extra cost): Ride from Kampong Cham to the serene island of Koh Pen, pedaling through vegetable fields and tobacco plantations. Encounter farmers, artisans, and Khmer beekeepers passionately tending to their hives, gaining insight into rural Cambodian life.
