The boat leaves Luang Phrabang at 7:00am for upstream the Mekong to Pakbeng.

Continental Breakfast is served on board.

In the morning, we will stop to visit Pak Ou Caves (Tham Ting) and its over two thousands Buddha statues. It is one of the most important Pilgrimage place for Lao people.

Lao traditional Lunch sets is served on board.

In the afternoon, our English speaking guide will organize a small lecture and will explain the different ethnicties here in Laos.

The boat arrives in Pakbeng before the night.

Note: meeting point is 06:45 am at our boat pier in front of T56 restaurant, Ban Pakham

Embark at 7:00am on the boat. Normally your hotel in Pakbeng must have prepared a take away breafast box for the shompoo cruise travelers that they can eat on board.

In the morning, our guide and cooker will make a short demonstration on how to make some lao desserts and local drinks that travelers will eat later in the afternoon.

Just before lunch, the loat will stop to visit a traditional Kamu village (Ban Kaeng Lae), a tiny cozy place which host about 70 familles. Travelers will learn about rural lifestyle in a very remote area.

Lao traditional Lunch set is served on board.

Before to reach Houay Xay pier, enjoy the homemade desserts and drinks amde by our team and the travelers.

The boat will arrive at destination before 4:30 (possibility to continue the journey to Thailand on the same day

Remark

For downstream, our boats leave Houay Xay pier at 9:00 AM. So please be at the immigration office in Houay Xay by 8:30 AM at the latest. One of our guides will wait with a sign of your name.
For upstream, our boats leave Luang Prabang at 7:00 AM. Our driver will pick up you at your hotel from 0630am and transport you directly to the CALAO boat pier.
From October to February, it can get cold during the cruise; please do not forget to bring a jacket and warm clothes.
When you arrive in Pakbeng, you may choose to safely and securely leave your luggage and suitcases onboard with the crew overnight. Bring a smaller overnight bag to carry to and from your hotel for your convenience.

Our boats are specially made for cruising in the Mekong. 40-meters long, they are equipped with 200 horsepower engines. The hulls are made of steel and passenger decks onboard are made of precious local woods (rosewood and teak). With a sun deck lounge area in the front, a 10 table and 40 seat areas in the middle, and a bar and sitting area in the back, you will certainly enjoy a very comfortable and relaxing time during the cruise.
We welcome up to 40 passengers on 10 tables on each cruise. With an open lounge space, a bar and a restaurant serving fine cuisine, you can enjoy landscapes and sceneries along the river in style and comfort. Electricity (220V) is also provided during the whole trip. Newspapers, magazines and games are available on board.
Life safety jackets are provided.
Please enjoy our homemade Lao gastronomy and the richness of its local flavour. Mekong fish will be served at least once on your journey. Complimentary bottle of water, coffee, tea are included in the package. And our bar provides beer, soft drinks, and other snacks for purchase. For special food requests or dietary restrictions, please let us know in advance.
