Tran Hung Dao Forest

Tran Hung Dao Forest has now become a historic address on the journey to Cao Bang Province.
This place marks the establishment and activities of the Vietnam Liberation Army Propaganda Team, the predecessor of the Vietnam People's Army. At the same time, this area is associated with the life and revolutionary career of General Vo Nguyen Giap - an excellent student of President Ho Chi Minh.
With these historical values, in 2013, the Vietnamese Government decided to classify the Tran Hung Dao Forest Historical Relic as a Special National Monument. Let's explore Vietnam revolutionary historical stories with Asia King Travel through these relics!

Traveling to Tran Hung Dao Forest, visitors will not only learn about glorious historical traditions with many relics but also explore and admire the beauty of the primeval forest.
With an area of over 201.7 hectares, Tran Hung Dao Forest still retains its wild beauty and fresh air. Deep under the canopy of ancient trees is the stele house of 34 soldiers of the Vietnam Liberation Army Propaganda Team.

Following a tiny slope about 50 meters is a natural water mine, also a drinking water point for soldiers, which after many years still produces cool and clear water. Also in Tran Hung Dao Forest, a 300-year-old ancient dragonplum tree has been recognized as a Vietnamese Heritage Tree.
Tham Khau Cave Provincial Revolutionary Historical Relic is one of 5 relics in Tran Hung Dao Forest. In the cave, there are many small, rough rocks. In front of the cave, many trees grow over the cave entrance. The cave does not have many nooks and crannies, convenient for all activities of the battle.
Tham Khau Cave was used as a contact station to deliver meals to revolutionary comrades
On the right side of the cave, a large stone slab with a relatively flat surface was used as a table to draw a map to attack Fort Phai Khat and Na Ngan. The location of Tham Khau Cave is both secret and convenient for observation. From 1941 - 1944, Tham Khau Cave was used as a contact station to deliver meals to revolutionary comrades.
Phai Khat Fort Relic is where the first battle of the Vietnam Liberation Army Propaganda Team took place. Fort Phai Khat was ranked a National Relic on January 29, 1993.
Here, at 5:00 p.m. on December 25, 1944, the Vietnam Liberation Army Propaganda Team and local people destroyed and captured French commander and all soldiers. This victory opened the tradition of "a hundred battles, a hundred wins" of the heroic Vietnamese People's Army.

This is an important strategic location because it can cover the entire Tam Kim area and communicate easily with other communes of Nguyen Binh District. The victory at Fort Phai Khat, although not large in scale, created confidence in liberation soldiers, marking the maturity of the armed forces as a premise for future battles.
Na Ngan Fort Relic is an important relic in the complex of Tran Hung Dao Forest Special National Relic Area. This is where the second victorious battle of the Vietnam Liberation Army Propaganda Team took place on December 26, 1944.
The fort is located on a high hill, the terrain is difficult, from the outside you have to go through several valleys. In recent years, Na Ngan Fort relic has received attention and investment from the government, specialized agencies and the Ministry of National Defense.

Preserving and embellishing the Na Ngan Fort relic will contribute to better promoting the relic's value. Thereby, contributing to educating patriotic and historical traditions for generations of Vietnamese people, especially the younger generation.
Va Pha Relic belongs to Ban Um Hamlet, Tam Kim Commune and is a large, relatively flat valley right at the foot of Slam Khau Hill. In front of this place, you can see Ban Um field and the road to Tran Hung Dao Forest. Behind is Slam Khau Hill down to Thuong An Commune (Ngan Son District, Bac Kan Province).
It is a private place, far from local housing areas. Here, the Viet Minh General Headquarters opened a training class for cadres in the entire province led by comrades Vo Nguyen Giap and Le Thiet Hung in February 1944.

The military training class is a step to prepare the force, actively contributing to the establishment of the Vietnam Liberation Army Propaganda Team. Till now, Va Pha still has traces of the military classroom camp, where there are still pebbles at the foot of the bed.
From the Tran Hung Dao sacred forest, the Vietnam People's Army, under the leadership and training of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh, has achieved great miracles during the journey of construction, fight and growth.
