You can spend the afternoon in the village or move to the nearby Kho Tha waterfall. Located in a more remote and less impressive area than Thi Lo Su, it is mainly visited by locals. In the evening, you will have dinner with a local family and spend the night in one of the houses here. This activity helps you gain a deeper understanding of the lives and lifestyles of the friendly Karen people.
By car: This is a popular way to get to Thi Lo Su Waterfall. Visitors can drive their car or rent a car from nearby cities like Bangkok or Chiang Mai. The waterfall is about 350km from Tak and takes 6-7 hours to drive from Bangkok and about 450km (8-9 hours) from Chiang Mai.
By bus: Visitors can use public buses to get to Thi Lo Su Waterfall. From Bangkok, take a bus from Mochit or Sai Tai Mai bus station to Tak. Then there are local buses from Tak that will take travelers to Thi Lo Su Waterfall. Please remember that bus times and schedules may change, so it’s essential to check the schedule and travel information.
By air: Another option for visitors is to fly to Tak airport and use means such as taxis or shuttles to get to the waterfall. Normally, Tak Airport serves domestic flights from Bangkok and some other destinations.
