About Pang Sida National Park

Native American tribes lived in the region before it was designated as a national park, and they depended on its abundant natural resources.

Establishment

  • 1974: The Royal Forest Department of Thailand carried out the first research and surveys.
  • 1982: To preserve its distinctive species and safeguard its watersheds, Thailand's 38th national park was formally established on February 24, 1982.

Growth and Preservation

  • 1980sā€“1990s: To encourage ecotourism, infrastructural upgrades were done, such as paths and tourist centers.
  • Anti-Poaching: To stop poaching and illicit logging, more enforcement methods were implemented.
  • Ecotourism: The promotion of environmentally friendly travel via instructional and guide training initiatives at the local level.

With its expansive views of the surrounding mountains and woods, the Khao Phaeng Ma Viewpoint is a great place to take pictures and take in the sunrises and sunsets. There is a serene area near the Pang Sida Dam for leisure activities like fishing and picnics.

Entrance fees & opening times

The entry costs are 200 Baht for adults and 100 Baht for children aged 3 to 14 as of June 2022. Adult Thai residents pay 40 Baht, while minors pay 20 Baht. Thirty Baht is levied on cars.

Opening time: Every day from 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Pang Sida National Park is open. Office hours are from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Between November and February, during the cold and dry season, is the ideal time to explore Pang Sida National Park. The nice weather at this time of year, with its cooler temps and less humidity, is perfect for outdoor pursuits like hiking, animal observation, and visiting the park's stunning waterfalls. On the other hand, the rainy season, which lasts from July to October, is ideal for waterfall watching and has the highest humidity levels in August. It also brings regular rains.

How to get to Pang Sida National Park

By car: The Mueang district of Sa Kaeo province is around 256 kilometers from Bangkok. Take the bus route Sa Kaeo-Ban Khlong Nam Khiao from Mueang district and travel approximately 27 kilometers on road 3462 to reach the Pang Sida National Park Office.

By train: From Bangkok, go to Aranyaprathet on the eastern train. At the Sa Kaeo railway station, the first train leaves at 6:00 a.m. and the second one at 13:00 p.m. Next, as previously said, take a bus from the Mueang area to the park office.
