Nui Coc Lake is a man-made freshwater and a well-known ecotourism in northern Vietnam. The lake is quite large, with a width of 2 600 hectares and a depth of 50 meters. The most striking feature of Nui Coc Lake is the presence of 89 islands scattered throughout the lake. These islands are said to have been formed during the creation of the lake.

Nui Coc Lake is associated with a beautiful legend about a poor boy named Coc and a rich girl named Cong. Despite their different social statuses, Coc and Cong fell deeply in love. However, Cong's family forbade their relationship. Cong’s father locked her in the house, she cried until her pearly body melted into water.

Missing Cong, Coc stood rooted to the spot until he turned into a mountain. The 89 islands in the lake are said to represent the pieces of their broken hearts. On rainy days, the water of the Cong River rises rapidly to get closer to Coc Mountain.
Nui Coc Lake is located in Thai Nguyen Province, Vietnam. This large eco-tourism area is less than 20 kilometers from Thai Nguyen City and about 70 kilometers from the capital Hanoi. Despite being in the midlands with a mountainous terrain, Nui Coc Lake is easily accessible. This is a suitable place for a picnic or a city escape.

From Hanoi, there are 2 main routes to Nui Coc. The first one is from Nhat Tan Bridge and the other starts at Thanh Tri Bridge. After crossing the bridge, follow Highway No.7 to reach Thai Nguyen City and Nui Coc Lake.

Thanks to the expressway's convenience, you can take a coach or have a personal drive with your vehicle to Nui Coc Lake. Just remember to bring cash for the toll booth and drive carefully uphill. The mountain scenery along the way is also gorgeous, you can stop and take some check-in photos.
The most ideal time to visit Nui Coc Lake tourist area is from March to September. Escaping the summer heat by going up the mountain is an unbeatable choice. Many entertainment and art activities organized at Nui Coc, making it extremely lively.

At Nui Coc Lake tourist area, visitors can experience countless entertainment games and thrills in an area of more than 1 hectare. There is also a wildlife zoo with many rare animals. The water park is more than 2 hectares wide with many types of swimming pools and very unique with games such as: carp fishing pond, water puppet show, dolphin pool…

There is also a huge variety of traditional products in the tourist area. This place was built entirely of 200-year-old ironwood. The display area currently has more than 1,000 rare antiques in many unique art villages around Vietnam.
Ticket prices to visit Nui Coc Lake include entrance tickets, tickets to visit attractions and amusement park tickets. The ticket price for adults and children over 1,2 meters is VND 130 000/person. War veterans and the elderly only pay VND 80,000 for a ticket. Children under 1,2 meters and disabled people will be admitted free of charge.
For boat trip service, customers have to pay an additional VND 30,000/person. Some other games and services will charge separate ticket fees.
