It was previously named Nusajaya, but was later named Iskandar Puteri in 2016 after Sultan Iskandar of Johor. Iskandar Puteri is part of the development region in Iskandar Malaysia. Iskandar Puteri has a typically tropical kind of climate; it is generally hot and humid throughout the year. The best time to visit the city would be during its dry season, which falls between May and September. For this period, the weather is usually sunny with less rainfall, making it perfect for outdoor activities and sightseeing.
November to February is the monsoon period where heavy rains and thunderstorms are highly experienced. But if you do not mind rain at all, this can be the best period since it would be a less busy time than usual in all major attractions.

By Air: The nearest airport to Iskandar Puteri is Senai International Airport, which is situated approximately 30 km from the city. It operates domestic flights and a few international routes through China, Indonesia, and Thailand.
By Public Transport: At present, there are quite a few bus services operating between Johor Bahru and Iskandar Puteri, making the trip so easy and reasonable in price. There are also buses that go directly from Singapore to Iskandar Puteri; it takes about 1-2 hours depending on the condition of the traffic.
