History of Heart Waterfall

The beauty of Heart Waterfall is inextricably linked with local legend. As the legend goes, a handsome, brave young man of the Hmong ethnic minority fell deeply in love with a beautiful, skilled embroiderer from his village. Their love was a legend in the village, adored by everyone. But duty called the young man to war, and even though he waited forever, he never returned.

Having received news of his death, the left-behind maid went to their meeting spot and wept until she became the waterfall that exists today. In a cruel twist of fate, the young man returned victorious, to find his lady love had become one with nature. Unbearable in his sorrow, he climbed to the top of the waterfall, lamenting in the mountains, and was turned into a heart shaped rock in the center of the waterfall.
