Itinerary

Chiengkhong (Thailand) – Viengphoukha (Laos) (L, D)
After finishing all immigration and customs formalities in Laos, we cross border from Thailand to Laos.
Our private guide will welcome and pick up you via name board then from border we will be transferred approximately 30 km and start riding to pass through the ethnic minority villages of Kamu and Lolandders.
 
Our guide will prepare for lunch for you in the shadow of trees by the road wherever we feel hungry. We reach  the small town of Viengphoukha in the late afternoon.

ViengPhouKha – LuangNamTha  (B, L, D)
Starting our day by enjoying light breakfast at local restaurant by our guide’s help and support. The cycling distance today is only 51 km, on an a bit undulating road which is easier than the first day.
 
We also pass  through ethnic minority villages with a lot of children running out from their houses, greeting us  “SABAIDEE” in Lao language (“ it mean HELLO in English !) We arrive reach LuangNamTha at noon and have simple lunch at local restaurant.

Luangnamtha - Muangsing – Luangnamtha (B, L, D)
After light breakfast, we get out of LuangNamTha to head to small town of Muangsing, close to the Chinese border. Today we will get an opportunity to passing through the most jungle covered mountains on the route, especially  crossing two valleys LuangNamTha and Muangsing and ethnic minority villages. There will be some ascending on the way.
 
Have lunch in a local restaurant, and then return to  LuangNamTha, where we will stay overnight at a boat landing guesthouse.
 

Luangnamtha – Udomxai (B, L, D)
Our trip today will take us to Odomxai after transfer the first 43 km from the guesthouse to the junction to China and approximately 84 km to Udomxai. We pass through the villages of Thai Lu, Kmue, and Hmong ethnic groups. The variety of those groups throughout the hills of this country northern is a highlight of this trip.
 
Our guide will prepare for lunch for your group under a shadow of a tree by the road which must be a interesting experience.  We reach Udomxai in the late afternoon.
 

Udomxai – Muangkhua ( B, L, D)
After breakfast, we begin to cycle to the Western of the Vietnam border. Though the route is a gradual descent it ascends in some places. It is not too steep however. There are some excellent photo opportunities of the friendly Khmu tribe and their families. Lunch is prepared by our guide and helpers. We will find a nice spot for lunch stop by a stream. Today is a great day of riding.
Ride from Udomxai to MuangKhua, stay overnight at Xernaly Hotel
 

Muangkua – Pakmong  (B, L, D)
After breakfast we will hop on the local  boat on the majestic Nam Ou River.Our downstream journey lead us to one of the most magnificent River stretches in Laos. The  spectacular mountain scenery make us feel comfortable and help us to relax.
 
It takes us around 4 hours to reach Muang Ngoi village which was the capital district of LuangPrabang province commaned by communists before 1975 during the Indochina War. Lunch will be served at local restaurant .
In the afternoon, we continue our trip to head to Nongkiaw. We start cycling from Nongkiaw. After 30 km we reach the junction of Pakmong village, where we stay overnight at a guesthouse.

Pakmong – LuangPrabang (B, L, D)
Today we will head to Luang Prabang by start riding along Route 13 North after turning right at the junction. Today must be the longest day, the road ascends and descends constantly.
 
 At kilometer 30 to LuangPrabang we turn from road 13 to a dirt road toward the Mekong River at Pak Ou village and visit Buddha caves. We reach the Buddha caves where we could have a look at confluence of the Mekong & Ou Rivers. Since the 16 century, the villagers built many thousands of Buddha images here.
 
Riding is optional for the last 30 km to LuangPrabang.

LuangPrabang - Day free   (B, L, D)
 You have a free day for relax after long cycling days.

LuangPrabang – Kiewkacham  (B, L, D)
Have breakfast at hotel.
Today, we will start cycling out of city and heading south that will take us up approximately around 1000 meters in elevation .We get out of the Mekong valley and into the mountains, followed by the Khan river. We go through so many villages and make a stop for refreshments every 15 or 20 km.


Then we begin a series of tough climbs. After 15 km of ascending (about 1005 m above sea level), we will be relaxer by 14 km descent to Nam ming (approximately350 m above sea level) where we will have a short stop for lunch. After lunch time, we have one last climb (near 20 km) into the mountains to Phou Dam before we reach to Kew Kacham where our destination ( about 1340 m above sea level ) .
 
Stay overnight at standard guesthouse with delicious dinner and enjoy plenty of Beer Lao.
 

Kiewkacham  -  Kasi  (B, L, D)
In the morning, our guide will be pleasant to prepare slight breakfast for you. we will experience cool fresh air in Keukacham where is consider as  the coldest place in our trip because we will start cycling along the mountain ridge for 20 km. Then we start our first climb of the day for 8 km.
 
We will have lunch at Phoukhoun, 46 km far from our destination Kasi at an elevation of 1300 m. This is a large crossroads where route 7 goes to the plain of jars. We will continue to cycle down route 13 ,this 25 km descent is one of the best in southeast Asia, we will enjoy a most excellent after noon ride. we regroup at abridge across a small stream at 75 km. we then have a short climb before a flat ride into Kasi where we stay over night.

Kasi – VangVieng  (B, L, D)
We should spend only a single morning in cycling to leaving extra relaxation time in Vang Vieng. We still keep going along route 13 and although there are some short ascensions most of the ride is downhill or flat. You do not miss to go for a short walk to enjoy breathtaking scenery on the way. We will make a stop for refreshments a few times along the way, but we have a main stop after 50 km at a big village of Ban Phatang.
 
The last 18 km is a fast flat ride among the magnificent limestone mountains. We will arrive the hotel in time to enjoy delicious simple lunch overlooking the river. You will be free in the afternoon to experience the town or enjoy  swimming in the river. Vang Vieng has a lively traveler’s scene with all the usual accompanying facilities: e-mail, pubs, pizza and many young foreigners.

VangVieng – Thalat  (B, L, D)
In the early morning, we begin riding along the route 13 because we have a long cycling today.On the way, we make a stop for refreshment every 20 or 25 km. The rest of the morning is along undulating roads to Hinherb village.
 
After 69 km riding, we will reach a long bridge, we have a main rest for lunch  in a local restaurant. The afternoon we will be a bit relaxing by cycling along fast flat roads.
 
After 83 km cycling, we make a turn left at a main junction of Phonhong town. After 15 km of riding along the flat road and takes, us into the town of Thalat near the NamNgum dam.
 
We stay in a resort and have dinner at our resort.
 

Thalat – Vientiane  (B, L, D)
 After breafast at our resort, we say goodbye to Thalat and  begin riding passing through Namngum Dam . We just riding over one sharp hill in the morning then the road would be flatter.
 
We enjoy our lunch in a local restaurant . Riding today there would be more traffic so please do not forget to keep riding on right side all the time and we regroup before getting into town and then we cycling to hotel.
 
Arrival Vientiane, you'll go through the suburbs as you cycle to the centre of this historic, lively city located along the bank of the Mekong. Overnight at the hotel in Vientiane.
 

Vientiane Flight to Bangkok (B)
After breakfast we begin to discover the city by bicycle with the first visit of the oldest Wat in Vientiane, Wat Sisaket with thousands of miniature Buddha statues, and the former royal temple named Wat Prakeo, which now is a museum of arts and antiques. 
We then head to Lanexang Avenue you will have chance to take some photos of the stately Patuxai Monument, which seems to be its Parisian inspiration, the Arc de Triomphe.  We should climb to the top which will offer beautifully panoramic views of Vientiane.
We continue onwards down Rue Singha 23 to Laos’ National icon, and most important religious building the golden stupa of That Luang.
 
Our driver will pick up and transfer to airport for flight to Bangkok. End of services.
